Powerlifters Place 6th at State Meet

Sirois Sets New State Record

On Friday, April 17th, 11 guys from GHS participated in the State Powerlifting meet at Quivira Heights High School in Bushton. The team finished 6^th overall with a total of 74 points.

In the heavyweight division senior Kenny Cesmat place 2^nd in bench with 320, 3^rd in squat with 405, and 2^nd in hang clean with 295. Senior Adam Haskin placed 2^nd in squat with 405 and 5^th in hang clean with 255.  Junior Billy Stensland took 3^rd in cleans with 285.  

In the 220 weight class, junior Grant Sirois set a new state record on bench with a lift of 345 pounds, earning him first place. He also took 2^nd in squat with 335, and 3^rd in cleans with 275.  In the 198 division, senior Shane Engelken took 3^rd in bench with 250 and 4^th in squat with 365.  Sophomore Bryce Yohn took 5^th in bench with 235 in the 165 division.
