Safe Kids Kiowa County Ready to Roll!

Safe Kids Kiowa County will be holding a Bike Rodeo at the Kiowa County School on Tuesday, September 22 starting at 8:30 am for children in 1st - 4th grades.  An enclosed trailer will be available to haul bikes from Mullinville to Greensburg.  There will be stations available that will focus on wearing a helmet correctly, using a bike that fits the child, riding in a safe place where they will be seen, and riding correctly.  The participants will also register their bike with the Sheriff's Department so that the police will have the bike and child's information.

On the day of the rodeo, children in 1st - 4th grades will need to bring the following:
    1.  Their bike
    2.  Their helmet
    3.  Their completed waiver of liability
    4.  Their completed registration form

The registration form and waiver of liability are being sent home with your child.  Please looking for that information, and ask your child about it if you have not received them yet.  If you did not receive the registration form or waiver of liability, please contact Safe Kids Kiowa County for an additional copy.  Kiowa County Elementary School does NOT have any additional copies.  All of the copies were sent home with the students.

If your child does not have a bicycle, we will try to pair them up with another child of their same size.  Everyone will need to have a helmet to participate in the Bike Rode, so please make sure your child has a helmet that is the correct size for them.  There will be a few helmets available for students to use if they do not have one, but there is a VERY LIMITED supply.  Please provide your own helmet if you are able.  We look forward to hosting this safety event, and welcome parents/caregivers to attend as well!

Thank You!
