KCJH Impact hosts 2nd Annual "Love KC Project"

Impact's Social Activities committee will be hosting an event for KCJH students on Friday, March 4.  It is their 2nd Annual Love KC project, where students show a little love to their community by doing community service.  The KCJH students will be divided into several groups on the afternoon of March 4 to clean up city parks, the swimming pool grounds, Main Street, outside school facilities, and other locations that are littered with trash from the recent blustery Kansas winds.  In addition, they will be helping do some cleaning at the Twilight Theatre.

Each month, students at Kiowa County Junior High focus on a value of the month and an Impact committee is assigned to plan activities for that month's value word.  The Social Activities committee, chaired by Brandon Boyles and advised by Mr. David Cesmat, had the month of November.  The value word was "service--lending a hand to help someone else."  The committee decided to wait until the spring to do this project, when the weather was a little nicer.  We are aware it is not quite spring, but it has kind of felt like it lately..  Brandon, Mr. Cesmat, and Mrs. Derstein looked at the weather forecast and Friday, March 4 looks like a day with nice weather for the kids to get out and "Love KC."  If you see them out and about that day, in their bright orange Love KC shirts,  you will know what they are up to!
