Building the School Creates Quite an Appetite

Impact Sponsors Construction Worker Appreciation Day

by Kathy Headrick

December 22, 2009

The Elementary Impact group really has a selfless attitude.  Twice this month, they have taken the time to thank people that are working for them.  Early in December, they baked bread for the PK-5 faculty and staff as a way to say thanks and Merry Christmas.  This week, before everyone left for Christmas break, the students wanted to say thank you to the construction workers who have braved the troublesome weather to keep the construction of our school on schedule.

Some of the construction workers stop by for goodies at the appreciation table.

Each of the Impact members brought treats for the crew:  4th grade brought salty snacks, and 5th grade brought sweet treats.  They set up a table on the mezzanine between the two new gymnasiums and invited anyone working on site on Monday, December 21, to visit and have some snacks.  The construction workers seemed to appreciate the gesture.

In addition to serving snacks, each of the Impact kids that were able to help that day were given a tour of the progress of the new school.
