September 09, 2009
The leadership group, IMPACT, for Kiowa County Jr. High has been selected for the 2009-2010 school year.
8th Grade: Remington, Trever, Heidee, Charity and Harmony
7th Grade: Maddie, Taylor, Addi and Denisse
6th Grade: Brylee, Alex and Mack
The group had their first meeting on Wednesday, September 9. Mrs. Headrick, IMPACT sponsor, challenged the team to meet high behavior, academic and social expectations. "It is important for this group to provide a good example for others, to strive for excellence in the classroom and to provide activities for students from both Greensburg and Mullinville to bond a little bit," said Headrick.
The first task the group will complete is to write a purpose statement. This task will help them define their goals for the year. Also, they will be entering a float in the upcoming homecoming parade. Finally, in September, the group will plan a social activity for students at KCJH. And that will be just the beginning.
The group's name, IMPACT, comes from the theme this year--Ux2: Double Your Impact. KCJH is comprised of two schools coming together, so the name and the theme seem appropriate for this school year. IMPACT is already off to a busy start. Check back here for more information about what IMPACT is up to in the coming weeks and months!
